I've recently got my first set of clubs and was wondering how much people play for a session at a driving range. Is £2.50 for 50 balls reasonable?

Depends a lot where you go.
I pay £2.50 for 50 balls or £4.00 for 90.

Also depends on the quality of their balls.

A lot of places use poor quality balls to make more profit, so try to find a range which uses better ones. It's worth paying the extra for, you can actually feel your shots.
